It seems like every day we hear stories about someone pretending to be down and out so they can get a free ride. Unfortunately, most of these stories are not much more than urban legend and anecdotal.
It’s bad enough to see so many people in need, and some homeless folks are an eye sore that we look past and feel bad about it, but that’s how it is. But when someone comes along and scams people’s emotions and empathy, especially using children in their scam, they need to be stopped.
