The Public Land Debate: Does the Federal Government Need to Own a Third of America?


The Federal Government owns almost a THIRD of America’s land—HALF the West. Why not sell some of it?

Because environmental activists convince voters it’s a dangerous idea.

One of those activists, Jennifer Mamola of the John Muir Project, says selling any federal land will hurt the environment.

Other activists make deceitful videos telling viewers to “imagine the Grand Canyon filled with oil rigs.”

But William Perry Pendley, former director of the Bureau of Land Management says “We’re not going to do parks… they made it up!”

The land Pendley and some politicians propose selling is what’s called “multiple use” land which isn’t used for anything now.

But it could be used for things like housing, grazing, mining…
