NEW YORK — Joint terrorism task forces have been alerted of a possible al Qaeda terrorist attack on Monday, according to reports by CBS News and Time.
According to the reports, intelligence agencies believe New York, Texas and Virginia are possible targets, though no specific locations are mentioned.
Both the New York Police Department and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed they were given information about a potential threat.
Both NYPD and Port Authority Police officers will be on alert this weekend, the departments said.
