Palestinians in Rafah — where hours ago Israel had issued evacuation warnings ahead of possible strikes in the region — are celebrating in the streets after Hamas announced that it had accepted a cease-fire proposal.
The head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement said the group has called Qatar and Egypt “and informed them of the Hamas movement’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement.”
A deal has not been confirmed or commented on by other parties, including Israel.
