Listen to what New York Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel has to say about gun control and the lack of concealed carried permits in his city.
When the reporter asks Rangel about concealed carry access for his constituents, he replies, “I wouldn’t want them to have it. I know what you’re trying to say. Corruption is corruption, and it’s bad. Law-abiding citizens just shouldn’t have to carry a gun. You’re not gonna push me in that direction.”
However, when the topic changed to his own armed guards that stand outside the government buildings he works in he sang a different tune.
“Well, that’s a little different. I think we deserve–I think we need to be protected down here.” Rep. Charlie Rangel proceeded to cackle with delight in a way that can only be described as villainous, possibly one from a bad 80s film.
