New York City Pushing for Face Recognition Cameras

 

The surveillance state is getting a huge upgrade in New York City, according to new reports from the Big Apple’s Big Brother programmers.

New York City’s latest foray into the Big Brother-esque surveillance state is extremely invasive to its citizens privacy.

While the nation is still adjusting to the idea that governmental agencies are constantly spying on us in a variety of ways, New York City is pushing the envelope as far as the invasiveness of this technology is concerned, hoping to implement face recognition technology in a myriad of cameras around the city.

“The state of New York has privately asked surveillance companies to pitch a vast camera system that would scan and identify people who drive in and out of New York City, according to a December memo obtained by Vocativ.
