On October 9, 2012, Taliban gunmen attacked a bus filled with schoolgirls in Peshawar, Pakistan in an attempt to assassinate Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old girl and activist. She was shot in the head and survived. After the attack, Malala became an international symbol of freedom for women and girls and the struggle against the brutality imposed by the Taliban. In 2014, Malala was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. In this interview from 2014, Malala sat down with Ronan Farrow to talk about her path to activism and her unshakable determination to see that all children have the opportunity to attend school around the world.
