Welcome back, Richest fans! All the way back in World War Two, the incredible, over 200 hundred-year-old Amber Room disappeared off the face of the Earth. One moment it was in a secure facility, the next, it was seemingly destroyed in an attack. However, that’s the official story. And there are a lot of holes within the tale. There are many other theories on what actually happened to this $500 million art. Today, we’re going to explore the history of this real-life mystery and the possible options for the Amber Room’s fate. As well as see the reconstructed room put up in its absence.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll explore how the Amber Room was created on the request of King Frederick The First of Prussia. How the room was moved from Berlin, Germany to Catherine Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia. All due to a pact with the then Russian Tsar and Prussia. We’ll take a look at the history of amber, its value, and what it’s used for. There’ll probably be a nod to Jurassic Park! We’ll then see how the Soviet Union lost possession of the room due to Operation Barbarossa. As well as see the new Amber Room. Then explore the various theories on what happened to the old room. Such as the strange story involving the then Soviet premiere, Leonid Brezhnev. As well as the recent discovery involving the remains of the Karlsruhe Ship found in the Baltic Sea.
