Indian Ridge Resort was supposed to be the most lavish and luxurious community in the Ozarks, but the financial crisis ended that dream very quickly. Today, Indian Ridge is nothing more than open fields and crumbling mansions. Developers were going to spend $1.6 billion to turn Indian Ridge Resort into a premier tourist destination. There were plans to build the second-largest water park in the United States, a huge hotel, a shopping center, a conference center, and a museum. Indian Ridge Resort was supposed to be connected to a marina on Table Rock Lake and be filled with expensive castle-like mansions. The mansions were supposed to cost between $500,000 and $1 million, but now they’re just rubble. The mansions are completely overrun by nature and some have even collapsed completely. Even though Indian Ridge Resort failed, there is still hope for the area. The land was recently purchased by a new developer and there are now plans for another luxurious resort. The Ridge at Table Rock Lake will have a luxury hospitality resort, an entertainment district, and a town center. The development is just a short drive from Branson, which makes it the ideal location to build a sprawling and luxurious resort community.
