Welcome back, Richest fans! When we see a bargain deal on a house, we get incredibly interested. Occasionally, some of these houses might be going for a symbolic $1. Yet soon, all the extra costs are discovered, and it becomes a nightmare. As such, those homes won’t be picked up for any cost. Today, we’re going to look at the facts and features of some of the most unsellable houses that have been for sale for a single dollar. We’ll explore the 1 Euro house scheme in Italy that hides a number of costs below the surface. As well as a selection of properties in the US and UK that no one wants for any price.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll see the €1 service in Italy and the reason it came to be. We’ll look at a few properties in historic towns that are currently on the market. Some of which are on Italy’s island of Sicily. We’ll jump over to New Jersey to see what happened to the Aubrey Lewis House when it was priced at $1. Over in the UK, after the disaster at Grenfell Tower, the materials used in the apartment block massively affected the valuation of flats for millions of people across the region. We’ll then see a firehouse in Fremont that was being sold for $1, but with a catch that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete. We’ll see the success story of a similar situation with a $1 church. Finally, we’ll briefly see one house that appeared in 1991’s Silence of the Lambs film that languished on the market for years. Recently, it was sold and turned into a bed and breakfast!
