A nor’easter hit parts of New Jersey early Saturday, bringing thunderstorms, flooding and gusty winds. In West Virginia, Gov. Jim Justice declared a state of emergency because of flooding from heavy rains.
In Pennsylvania, a tiny twister touched down over the weekend, reaching 65 mph winds, while a mudslide was reported in Washington County.
The storm system in the mid-Atlantic mostly dumped rain and caused flooding. Trees toppled in Maryland from the drenched ground, and vehicles were swamped and roads closed in Kentucky.
In Tennessee, two people were rescued from flash flooding, while the body of 19-year-old Paige Gellner was found in the Ohio River in West Virginia after flooding ravaged Ohio County last week.
