This is a story of two pregnant women.
Both were expecting a new baby. Both were looking forward to being a mother and bringing forth new life. Both women suffered the terrror of a home invasion when no one else was around. They were utterly alone to defend themselves and their unborn child.
One woman is dead and her child with her. The other is alive and well.
Why is one woman alive and one deceased?
One woman was armed and one was not. It’s as simple as that.
On November 11, 2015 Amanda Blackburn was killed by an armed home intruder. Her bank cards and life were stolen. When her husband returned home from an early morning workout he found signs of a struggle and his pregnant wife dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Their other young child was unharmed upstairs in a crib.
