The United Arab Emirates’ Mars Science City cost $135 million to build, and in the future biosphere cities like this will be commonplace on Mars. The Mars Science City is located in the desert outside of Dubai, and it’s filled with state of the art technology and innovative features. The modular homes in the city were 3D printed using desert sand and construction was aided by advanced robotic arms. Scientists in the Mars Science City are working on a variety of experiments. There are food experiments to determine which crops will grow best on Mars, and some scientists are working on ways to extract oxygen from Mars ice. Mars Science City has a robotics research facility and a world-class space museum. The museum showcases all of mankind’s greatest space exploration achievements from the Apollo 11 mission to the United Arab Emirates’ Hope Mars mission. By the 22rd century, the United Arab Emirates could have many cities on Mars. A near-unlimited amount of biospheres can be connected to create a huge mega city on Mars. If the architectural achievements of Dubai are any indication, the United Arab Emirates’ first Mars megacity could be truly out of this world. A Mars megacity built by the United Arab Emirates could cost anywhere from $100 billion to $10 trillion based on cost estimates of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Mars city. Let’s take a tour of the incredible Mars Science City and see what’s in store for the future of space travel. Keep watching to find out more.
