Some people say self-driving cars will take taxi drivers’ jobs.
“I cannot support something that is going to almost overnight lead to loss of jobs for … over 100,000 people,” says New York State Senator Luis Sepúlveda.
But job changes aren’t necessarily bad.
Adam Thierer of the R Street Institute explains, “Free markets … allow people to move into other jobs where they’re more highly paid…”
Also, click-chasing news reports claim that self-driving cars aren’t safe.
That’s not true. Data show they’re 10 times safer than human drivers!
If politicians stop self-driving, more people will die.
