Inside The 2025 VW Tiguan: A New Era Of Luxury And Tech For Volkswagen | Cars & Bikes | Forbes

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan has undergone a significant transformation, positioning itself as a luxury SUV while retaining its reputation for reliability and space. The latest model boasts a host of premium features, including massaging seats, a head-up display, and a completely redesigned interior that emphasizes advanced technology and streamlined design. Notably, the Tiguan has shed its third-row seating in favor of a more spacious and comfortable cabin, aligning with the unified design language seen in Volkswagen’s electric vehicles. The exterior has been refreshed with new taillights, headlights, and a modernized grille, complemented by a light bar across the front and rear, giving the Tiguan a contemporary and sophisticated look.

Under the hood, the 2025 Tiguan is powered by a new four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 201 horsepower, a notable increase from its predecessor. This enhancement promises a more dynamic driving experience, especially when the vehicle hits the road i North America later this year. The interior of the R-line edition is particularly impressive, featuring wood trim, leather details, and a customizable 17-inch digital display that anchors the dashboard. The removal of the gear selector from the center console has created additional space for practical features like cup holders and a wireless phone charger. With its blend of luxury, technology, and increased power, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is set to redefine expectations in the SUV market.

Forbes covers the intersection of entrepreneurship, wealth, technology, business and lifestyle with a focus on people and success.

When Volkswagen introduced the Atlas in 2016 it was a lightning-in-a-bottle moment: Buyers loved this sharp Euro-styled SUV with a classic boxy aesthetic in a sleek three-row SUV. Everything was done right inside, too, with technology and a streamlined look that took cues from sister brand Audi.

In the following years, VW added these ideas to the smaller, more agile VW Tiguan and then to the compact Taos. When the company introduced its electrified portfolio— ID.4 and ID. Buzz in the US—it introduced even more luxuries and an evolved design language focused on glowing VW badges, light bars and headlights with an animated appeal.

For 2025, the VW Tiguan, which has been the company’s top selling model since it was redesigned in 2018 to align with the Atlas, serves as a pinnacle of all those ideas and then, takes them a step further with true luxury features and an even more elevated, refined style inside and out.

As with the rest of the industry—Kia, Hyundai, Mazda and others—the march toward marketplace resilience lies in luxury: Providing features previously for the privileged-only, such as massaging leather seats, ambient lighting, head up display and smart digital screens. For 2025, the VW Tiguan doesn’t hesitate; its all there, from the elegant and sporty quilted leather seat option with massage to the large screen and head up display.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show VW showed off the top of the line R-Line model with camel quilted leather seats, heated rear seats, puddle lights and a redesigned center console with more space for cups, phones and other things thanks to a re-located gear selector that is now a stalk on the steering wheel. The overall feel is open and elegant with less clutter from buttons and levers.

For all the luxury now possible in the VW Tiguan, the brand is not abandoning the renewed sense of fun that the company became known for through models like the Beetle, the ID. Buzz and the ID.4, all notable for fun design inside and out. These more modern designs feature headlights that present a “face” of the car for the resemblance to eyes, and a light bar that spans the front grille and a rear tail light bar.
