Kendi, née Henry Rogers, writes in his bestselling book How to Be an Antiracist, during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Tuesday. However, when pressed by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on a particular claim of the book — which Gilday put on a recommended reading list for sailors — the officer said he needed more “context” to either agree or disagree with the assertion that “capitalism is essentially racist.””
