Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign was set to cost upwards towards a billion dollars and do some major damage to business, but the FDA just put a halt to it.
The FDA has proposed delaying production on Michelle’s new labels for nutrition facts until 2020.
Food manufacturers were originally supposed to start using those new labels in 2018. However, thanks to the Trump administration, manufacturers are now able to hold off until 2020.
The Trump administration approved the delay, which would grant companies an additional 18 months to comply with former first lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. Let’s hope the next step is destroying it all together.
According to The Hill, the new rule required companies to add information about food products to their labels, such as the number of calories they contain as well as their vitamins and nutrients.
