The power of the free market is strong. That’s why I love it. We have more choices than ever when we need a product, so reputation is important. When companies decide to veer into the political realm and alienate a significant portion of their customer base, they are going to lose. Yet, companies continue to shoot themselves in the foot by taking sides on hot button issues.
Take Target, for example. Target has been alienating conservatives with anti-gun, anti-Christmas and anti-family messages for years. To add insult to injury, their transgender bathroom policy has resulted in billions lost for the company. Starbucks also has lost business due to their liberal policies and don’t even get me started on the NFL. The list goes on and on.
