Is This Why the House Delayed the Release of the FISA Memo?

President Trump is expected to declassify the FISA memo and send the memo back to Congress to be released on Friday. Trump is moving forward despite the opposition from FBI Director Christopher Wray. But what took so long for the FISA Memo to be released from the House in the first place?

Judge Napolitano a Fox News analyst claimed that House members delayed the release of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) memo because they wanted to expand FISA powers. Napolitano adds, the House was afraid the political fallout from the memo would have killed the bill.

“Ignorant of the hot potato on which the House Intelligence Committee had been sitting, Congress recently passed and President Donald Trump signed a vast expansion of spying authorities,” Napolitano wrote in a Wednesday op-ed.
