DETROIT — A Detroit doctor who stopped to help passengers in an overturned car died after being struck by a car herself.
Cynthia Ray, M.D., an interventional pulmonologist who was hit by a car on Sunday when she stopped to help passengers in an overturned car on the freeway, died tonight, Henry Ford Health System announced. She was 47.
Ray had stopped on her way to work at Henry Ford Hospital, when she saw an overturned Jeep on I-96 and tried to help six teenagers trapped inside.
