The Wall Street Journal reported that Uber placed a jobs listing for an operations executive for UberExpress, their drone delivery initiative for UberEats, to make drone delivery functional by next year and commercially available by 2021. Right after the Journal reported on the job listing, Uber took it down, telling the Journal that the ad didn’t fully reflect their program, which is still in the early days. But they’re not denying the fact that they do indeed want to deliver food by drone. In fact at Uber Elevate, the company’s conference about flying cars, their CEO said, “It’s my personal belief that a key to solving urban mobility is flying burgers in any city. We need flying burgers. Everyone needs it, so we’re working on that.” The Resident discusses.
