President Trump closed down his golf course today so members of the Coast Guard could play. It was to thank them for their hard work and for patrolling the waters near Mar-a-Lago.
Aside from providing the service members with a special lunch, Trump also played host to a four-man scramble type golf tournament for the sailors.
The Daily Caller reported that the tournament was intended as a “thank you” for the sacrifice and work those Coast Guard members do to protect the community and nation.
“It’s an honor to have you on the course,” Trump told the service members as they enjoyed their day at the prestigious golf club.
“These brave men and women patrol the waterways near Palm Beach and Mar-a-Lago everyday,” said White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley in a statement.
