Embroidery artist Jess de Wahls was blacklisted over a blog she posted explaining one of her artworks.

She wrote in 2019 that “a woman is an adult human female. (Not an identity or feeling.)”

De Wahls was forced to give up her workspace by co-workers at the Soho Theatre, then this year the prestigious Royal Academy announced without warning that it was stopping selling her work.

After a public outcry, the RA’s Chief Executive apologised, blaming a failure of communication.

Sky’s Adam Boulton sat down with her to talk about whether or not cancel culture goes too far?
