Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Anthony Scaramucci was never qualified to hold the position of White House communications director.
Spicer made his comments during an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday night.
“I’d known Anthony from the campaign,” Spicer said. “He’d done a lot of surrogate work for us on different television networks supporting the president and the campaign. We had known each other through the campaign.”
Spicer said he did not believe Scaramucci “had the qualifications or background to work in the communications office.”
“And my view was that if I’m going to have to partner with somebody that I don’t believe had the skill set to execute the job, it was incumbent upon me to either step aside or make my voice known.”
Spicer added he told President Donald Trump “it was in his best interests to have me step aside completely and let
