Well finally and after some speculation, Senator Al Franken officially out of office. His replacement has been named by Governor Mark Dayton. Lt. Gov. Tina Smith will be taking his place at a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.

Former Congresswoman and presidential aspirant Michele Bachmann said in an interview last week that she has been approached and is considering a run for that seat in 2020.
