Secretary of State Rex Tillerson traveled to South Korea this week to meet with the government there and see what direction South Korea sees their relationship with us going. With the recent impeachment of South Korea’s president and the chaos that the nation currently finds itself embroiled in Tillerson was hoping to make sure that it would be business as usual between our two nations. He also made a point of speaking directly to North Korea and explaining that the Trump administration would handle their relations in a very different way than the last administration did.
“Let me be very clear. The policy of strategic patience has ended. We are exploring a new range of diplomatic, security, and economic measures. All options are on the table.”
