Perfect Day at CocoCay is a private island in the Bahamas that can only be accessed via cruise ship. Royal Carribean spent $250 million turning a simple private island into a beach oasis and record-breaking waterpark to encourage people to buy tickets for their luxurious cruises. Perfect Day features Daredevil’s Peak, the largest waterslide in all of North America, as well as the biggest wave pool in the entire Carribean. Other action-packed ways to have fun at Thrill Waterpark include a zipline and a ride in a helium balloon. But if you’re not all about heights and high-speed, then you can also check out one of the island’s many places to chill and have a drink– like South Beach, the floating cabanas on Chill island, or the serene Oasis Lagoon.

Cruise-only private islands are quickly becoming a trend amongst cruise lines. These islands help keep boat traffic away from the Carribean’s always-packed beach ports. Instead, passengers on the Royal Carribean can look forward to their very own island hangout without tons of other boats arriving before they can grab their perfect ocean-side seats. But of course fun at Perfect Day comes at a pretty high price. For a good amount of money, you can rent a private cabana with room for eight, a changing room, cooler full of beverages and your very own beachside attendant. Ready to see what luxury cruises are adding to their roster to encourage people to try them out? Then let’s take a trip to CocoCay.
