The US intends to shut down a nuclear waste processing project in Idaho after determining it to be unfeasible to transport nuclear waste to the site from other states. The project employs hundreds of workers to process over 80,000 cubic yards of transuranic waste. RT America’s Natasha Sweatte reports. Then journalist and radio host Paul DeRienzo joins News.Views.Hughes to weigh in, arguing that distinctions like “high level” and “transuranic” nuclear waste is “a way for government to obfuscate the problem” and circumvent regulation.
