Ahmad Khan Rahami, the lead suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings has been taken into custody following a shootout on Monday morning. Rahami was suspected after he appeared on video footage messing with a duffel bag just before the explosion in Chelsea that left 29 wounded. Two officers were also wounded in the shootout with Rahami. Officials believe that Rahami was part of a terror cell operating out of the area and that more suspects remain at large.
On Monday morning, New York and New Jersey conducted statewide manhunts for a suspect by the name of Ahmad Khan Rahami, a man they wanted to question in connection with the bombings that happened over the weekend. Rahami is a 28-year-old American citizen of Afghanistan decent. He was never on the terror watchlist.
