Vin Scully, announcer for the L.A. Dogers, has declared that he will “never watch another NFL game” in response to the ongoing disrespectful demonstrations by players during the national anthem.
In comments Saturday, the retired and much-decorated former sports broadcaster said player protests during the national anthem have bothered him to the point where, “I will never watch another NFL game.”
Speaking at “An Evening with Vin Scully” at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the announcer was asked about the response from owners, players and commissioner Roger Goodell to the demonstrations, which players have used to protest racial injustice and police brutality.
“I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed,” Scully said, according to multiple videos of the moment posted on social media.
“I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot.
