Welcome back, Richest fans! More often than not, when people think about suddenly becoming rich, the thought of owning their own private island is near the top of their shopping list. Escaping the world and having complete domain over a hidden getaway. Bliss. Yet what many don’t know is that on top of spending a massive fee upfront usually worth millions of dollars, there’s also some hidden costs that aren’t thought about. Such as an Environmental Impact Study. Today, we’re going to see the cost of buying an island today and the hidden fees that are forgotten about. We’ll also see some of the luxury islands available for rent for those wanting to have a taste of living on an island.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll look at the private islands currently for sale in one of the most popular destinations in the world, the Caribbean. Then we jump to Asia to see their stunning secluded pieces of land. One of which is worth well over a $100 million! Not many people would think of buying an island in Canada. So we have two examples to peer at. But if you fancy purchasing a US island, we have a couple to examine within the country. We then have the hidden costs including potential construction and maintenance fees. We’ll look at some of the islands that you can rent today if your pockets are deep enough. Including one in Ibiza and Richard Branston’s Necker Island! Finally, we’ll briefly see one of the most expensive islands purchased by the United States, the Virgin Islands.
