How Hackers Infiltrated U.S. Government Servers Through A Texas-Based Company | The Wiretap | Forbes

In late 2020, it was revealed that hackers gained access to organizations across the U.S. through software created by the Texas-based company SolarWinds.

Russian hackers are believed to be behind the attacks, even if the Kremlin denies it. They hit private companies like Cisco and Microsoft, but also U.S. federal agencies like the Departments of Defense, Energy and Justice.

And while the hack was discovered in December 2020, hackers had backdoor access to sensitive information for more than eight months.
