Google’s project for a censored search engine in China has been suspended following reports that employees were secretly compiling blacklists of topics related to human rights, democracy etc. to be censored. They did this by analyzing searches at 265.com, a popular Chinese site owned by Google, without informing users or even Google’s own privacy team.
