George Washington’s Point is Crucial Amid The Avalanche of Sexual Harassment Claims

It is probable that President George Washington never heard the term sexual harassment. That does not mean that he was naive on the foibles of mankind. There have been bad behaviors every since man was created. What the founder of the nation did know was that there is something that man needs to regulate his behavior. The avalanche of sexual harassment claims, with new ones pouring forth daily, leads me to the wisdom of George Washington’s observation in his farewell address in 1796:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. … And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be managed without religion.”
