Colin Kaepernick Responds to Rapper’s Plan to Purchase Carolina Panthers

The same day Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced his plans to sell the team, hip-hop mogul and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs said on Twitter that he wants to buy the NFL franchise.

In a follow-up tweet, Combs explained his reasoning, pointing out that “there are no majority African American NFL owners.”

The rapper expanded on this in a video posted to Instagram.

“I believe it’s time to turn the franchise over to new ownership,” he said, reading from Richardson’s statement announcing his intention to sell the team. He then announced his plans regarding Kaepernick, who has remained unsigned since he opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March.
