Breaking: Andrew McCabe’s Time Has Run Out… Officially Steps Down From FBI

A top federal law enforcement official who has infuriated President Donald Trump and many of his supporters is abruptly leaving his post at the FBI.

According to NBC News, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stepped down from his role as second in command at the bureau on Monday.

He will reportedly remain on the FBI’s payroll until mid-March when he becomes eligible to retire with full benefits. According to Fox News, McCabe will be using accrued vacation time until then. He will not be reporting to work at the FBI again.

McCabe, who joined the FBI in 1996 and briefly served as acting director of the bureau between the firing of former Director James Comey and confirmation of current Director Christopher Wray, had long drawn intense scrutiny from Trump and Capitol Hill Republicans for what appeared to be political bias and major conflicts of interest.
