Welcome back, Richest fans! All around the world, there are numerous buildings being created at the same time. Some of which are worth billions. Yet after spending all that cash, finding a mistake can be devastating. Not only could it be dangerous, but also cost a lot to fix! Today, we’re looking at some of the most expensive construction mistakes in the world. We’ll look at all the facts and features of what went wrong to see just how much it cost to fix them.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we have the building nicknamed the Walkie Talkie, 20 Fenchurch Street. Which accidentally created a heat ray! It’s known around the globe for its iconic design yet has been hated by performers for its terrible acoustics, we have the Sydney Opera House! Nearly 10 years after it was meant to be opened originally, the Berlin Brandenburg Airport has been plagued by problems. So much so that the structure could go bankrupt soon. Since we’ve had all the recent positive news about NASA’s work on Mars, we’ll look at how different measuring systems caused problems with the Mars Climate Orbiter. Next is the structure that was meant to be the first one-kilometre-tall building, the Jeddah Tower. We have the Aon Center in Chicago that had pieces falling off it. We’ll then see what happened during 2010’s Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Finally, we’ll briefly look at Antoni Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and why it’s still not finished after nearly 140 years.
