Acting House Majority Whip Patrick McHenry Suffering From Pneumonia

Rep. Patrick McHenry, acting House Majority Whip, is suffering from pneumonia and has postponed the first series of town hall meetings he planned for the August recess, the Washington Examiner reports.

McHenry, R-N.C., has temporarily taken over for Steve Scalise, R-La., who was wounded as Republican lawmakers practiced for a charity baseball game.

“Early Saturday morning Congressman McHenry was diagnosed with pneumonia,” the Citizen-Times newspaper in Asheville, N.C., quoted a statement from his office.

“In light of this diagnosis and under advisement of his doctor, the congressman will be postponing his first round of town hall meetings.”
