According to the 2017 Power of the Sister Vote poll, conducted by the Black Women’s Roundtable, the Democratic Party has experienced an 11 percent drop in support from Black women.
The Black Women’s Roundtable, is an intergenerational public policy network, that works in partnership with Essence magazine.
The poll results were revealed Wednesday during the Congressional Black Caucus’ Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
Democrats are losing their most loyal voters: black women. Older black women in particular constitute the party’s electoral base.
