Jane Sanders is under investigation into her presidency of Burlington College in Vermont. The investigators are not talking about their investigation but everyone knows it’s about alleged fraud by Sanders in order to get a loan from the state for Burlington College in order to buy 33 acres along Lake Champlain. In order to qualify for the loan, Sanders had to badly overstate the amount of money the college would be receiving in endowments.
The Justice Department was investigating the activities of the now-defunct Burlington College as recently as February, according to emails obtained through a public records request.
The emails show the U.S. attorney for Vermont and an FBI agent reviewed Burlington College records in the state’s possession earlier this year pursuant to an investigation. Both enforcement agencies declined to comment on…
