James Carville: Difficult for Dems To Take Back Senate in Trump Country

Democratic strategist James Carville believes it’ll be “very, very difficult” for the party to take back the Senate in 2018.

In an interview aired Sunday with radio host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable,” the longtime ally of President Bill Clinton said “there’s a 50 percent chance that the Democrats win the House.”

“I think right now most Democrats are trying to focus on the 2018 elections and trying to recruit people and keep incumbents, and you know I would say we have a pretty good chance of taking the House back,” he said.

“The Senate is very, very difficult.”

“The problem in the Senate is we have a large number of seats we have to hold in states that [President] Donald Trump carried,” he added. “Indiana, Missouri, you know places like that we have to hold seats.
