Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) originated in the 1960s and 1970s from the Jesus People Movement. The Jesus People Movement has long disappeared, but many churches have adopted CCM. This music attempts to copy secular music but replaces the lyrics with a Christian message. However, there have been many complaints against CCM, with some saying that it is a Satanic counterfeit of true worship and that it is causing churches to become more worldly.
